Some points to know about front load washers
Curtis Latson Services Appliance Repair, since we have been servicing front load washers, one of the questions most frequently asked by customers is why after a period of time my washer starts to smell like a fish tank? Well, I am going to share some of the things that will cause this on front load washers. Open the front door, the rubber gasket you are looking at, technically is known as the Door Boot, it is made out of rubber and has grooves and crevices, dirt from the close will get caught in these areas and began to mildew causing a odor, after every wash, take a clothe along with basic cleaner and wipe the door boot off well, removing any potential build-up. Another area of concern, the Filter Basket, most customers don't know what that little square door is at the front bottom portion of your washer, behind the little door, you will find a little hose, this is your drain hose, before unscrewing the Filter Basket, you will need to relieve the pressure from the water built up in your drain circuit, after your washer goes into spin cycle about 10 gallons of water or there about remains in your washer, this is to ensure that seals and gaskets and hoses are kept moist so they won't become dry and brittle and cause a leak, remember to get a flat pan before removing the Filter Basket Plug and drain enough water out to relieve the pressure that has built up, remove your Filter and any debris that has collected before putting it back, now the last thing you want to do is to add a gallon of concentrated freshener like Pine Sol and it to your liquid dispenser and run a long load, when the washer goes into drain, the Pine Sol will sanitize your entire drain system within the washer and cause your unit to smell nice and fresh, do this every four months, this is the best maintenance tip I can give to a customer that owns a front loader. I hope this little bit of information will help you. For more info contact: oaklandapplianceservices.com.
